Bill was being given a hard time by his own insurance company. He came to us saying that the adjuster was screaming at him and as nasty as can be. My name is Bill. I was in a horrible car wreck on 95 south where I was injured and the person responsible was a drunk driver who exhausted all of her insurance. I ended up in the hospital with a head injury and back injury. I had to try and settle the claim through my underinsured motorist insurance portion (of my own insurance policy). They offered me a very minimal amount to cover my expenses. I incurred over $23,000 in medical expenses. The other insurance company could only cover $8,500. That was all of their insurance coverage and my underinsured coverage was supposed to pick up the difference. My underinsured motorist coverage was through USAA but unfortunately they only offered me an initital settlement of an additional $1,500. That was not even close to getting me whole. I renegotiated with them and got them to bring me up to $17,000 but still felt that it wasn't addressing my pain and suffering nor covering my full medical expenses.
