Can I settle my own case without hiring a lawyer?

Yes you can, you can actually settle your own case.   Which is not to say that its a good idea to handle your case without a lawyer.  Most people are at a severe disadvantage when dealing with an insurance adjuster.

Of course the ultimate value of your case is what a jury says your case is worth.  That is the arbiter for both insurance companies and lawyers handling these kind of cases.  If a jury will give you $10,000 on your case then that’s what the case is worth.
